CSHL, NY, USA (05.07.2006 – 05.13.2006)

I spent the past week in NY attending the Stein lab retreat and the Biology of Genomes meeting at CSHL.

Both meetings were fantastic, with lots of great ideas, stimulating science, and the usual reunions with people I haven’t seen for awhile.

Had one afternoon to escape into the city – just enough time to get to Penn, walk around, have some coffee, take some pictures, and buy a new pair of Onitsuka Tigers.

Syosset, Hicksville, Westbury, Carle Place, Mineola, Merillon Ave, New Hyde Park, Jamaica, Woodside, Penn. Waves as nostalgia as the conductor announces the stops on the LIRR. The “Clean Train Campaign” is still in effect. I really love riding the train into the city, the din of the crowd, the swirling wind when riding up the escalators into Penn.
