Day 40: Best day of the year

March 12, 2006 · 0 comments

No pictures to show. It wouldn’t matter anyways as the top of the mountain was snowed in. Up early to get in some work time. Headed down to the EE at 7AM but they don’t open until 8!

Coffee at cows. Read a great article on Calatrava from the NYR. Jupiter opened early – 9:30. Decided to see how many laps I could put in on Pinecone. Hiked Scott’s and did a quick run back to Jupiter.

Then I hit Constellation for two runs, Moonlite, Quarter Moon, and Limber Tree. Limber Tree was probably the best (and steepest) run of the day. Over-the-head face shots. Nuts. Runs were averaging an hour, including rides up Thaynes, skiing down to Jupiter, riding Jupiter, and then traversing back over to the Pinecone hike.

I was completely beat by the time I got back onto Motherload at the end of the day. Awesome day!
