Saturday morning. Up at six to get some work done. Carbo and caffeine loaded then hit the lift.
Nice corduroy today and the man-made stuff is a little better. Smaller and fewer death cookies thanks to a recent warming trend. I was bombing down Carbide Cut. At the bottom it makes a big dogleg to the right that I like to take at very high speeds, flying low. Unfortunately, my right ski popped off. I could feel all the tension on the ski release. This isn’t a good thing, especially with short ski leashes. I tried to do a slow coasting stop but then my loose ski started sumersaulting underneath me. I wiped, total end-over-end wipeout.
King Kon opened yesterday. Took one run on it today but the terrain looked like crap. Low coverage, all blown. Disgusting.
Cafe Amante opened today. Stopped in for a coffee and sat outside watching people move around. Love that place.
