Wow. I don’t even know what to say about this book. I love the title, the story telling, the setting, and the characters. To me, a big part of this book is about people confronting and conforming to the landscape. Told through the eyes of a retired academic historian exploring the history of his grandparents moving west, it’s not so much about how people shaped the west, but more about how they were shaped by it.
